LenovoEMC Unveils “px4-400r” High Performance Server Class NAS

LenovoEMC Limited, a joint venture established in December 2012 between Lenovo and EMC that includes the former Iomega network storage product business, has announced the worldwide availability of the new LenovoEMC px4-400r Network Storage, a 1U, four-bay rackmount Server Class NAS designed for expanding SMB and distributed enterprises.

The new LenovoEMC px4-400r utilizes hot swap 7200rpm SATA-III Server Class drives for up to 16TB (4 x 4TB) in storage capacity. An optional dual port GigE NIC card provides additional throughput and reliability. The px4-400r Network Storage would combine advanced data protection and local and remote content sharing with the simplicity and power of the LenovoEMC LifeLine operating system.

lenovoemc-nas-storageThe LifeLine operating system incorporates standard network storage capabilities as well as many advanced business features that professional users expect, including Windows Active Directory domain join, built-in cloud technology, versatile remote access, broad virtualization certifications, data replication, device-to-device copy jobs, advanced RAID support, solid state drive support and more. New hardware features include HDMI, eSATA and USB 3.0 ports for versatility of use.

Third-party applications from industry-leading software developers will automatically appear as an icon in the LifeLine OS system management interface when they are released, including EMC AVAMAR backup client, McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, ATI Lite from Acronis or the optional (for an added fee) Acronis Backup & Recovery for LenovoEMC NAS (ABR), and more.

Localized for 18 languages

The user interface for the LenovoEMC px4-400r is localized for 18 languages. Out-of-the-box certifications include Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2, VMware vSphere ESX 5.5 iSCSI and NAS, XenServer 6.1, 6.2 (w/ MPIO), iSCSI & NFS.

The diskless version of the new LenovoEMC px4-400r is available worldwide. In Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific, the new LenovoEMC px4-400r is also available in a Pro Series utilizing economical standard HDDs.
