LightEdge Gains HITRUST Certification for Four Colocation Data Centers

LightEdge

LightEdge, a provider of compliant cloud and colocation for over 25 years, has gained HITRUST certifications for four more data centers and has published an HITRUST Shared Responsibility Matrix (SRM). The SRM was created collaboratively by HITRUST and LightEdge. It would establish security and privacy duties between LightEdge and its clients to simplify the procedures for risk management programs.

HITRUST certification proves that the systems in the LightEdge environment fulfill the information risk management and compliance standards to safeguard healthcare data. Providers must go through a very demanding procedure in order to get HITRUST certification. According to LightEdge, approximately 80% of American hospitals and 85% of American health insurers adopt the HITRUST strategy to support HIPAA compliance.

Michael Hannan, LightEdge’s Chief Security & Chief Information Officer, said, “HITRUST compliance is essential for securely hosting healthcare data, but it’s extremely expensive and time-consuming to achieve and maintain.”

LightEdge would take HITRUST very seriously because more than 150 of their customers work in the healthcare or healthcare services industries. In addition to providing HITRUST-compliant data centers, LightEdge may assist its clients in earning their own HITRUST certifications.

LightEdge’s Colocation Data Centers

Shelby Eckard, Compliance Manager at LightEdge, explained that the HITRUST Inheritance Program “allows our customers to save internal resources when it comes time for an audit, protect their customers’ critical data with complete faith, and safeguard their brand from breaches. Most importantly, our customers can relax knowing that they have the support of a reputable third-party expert who has had an HITRUST certification for many years.”

LightEdge’s SRM would represent a major milestone as only 14 businesses worldwide, including LightEdge, have released an HITRUST SRM. All 11 of LightEdge’s data centers now have HITRUST certifications thanks to the most recent addition of four. LightEdge not only offers secure and compliant data centers but also provides assistance in achieving HITRUST certifications. Only 39 companies globally, including LightEdge, would be a member of the HITRUST Inheritance Program, which enables clients to inherit pertinent LightEdge controls and apply them to their own HITRUST evaluations.

To conclude, LightEdge’s HITRUST certifications and SRM further solidify the company’s position as a leader in compliant cloud and colocation for the healthcare and healthcare services industries. The certifications and SRM provide assurance to LightEdge’s clients that their sensitive healthcare data is secure and that they have the support of a reputable third party expert. LightEdge’s assistance in achieving HITRUST certifications and participation in the HITRUST Inheritance Program would further exemplify the company’s commitment to its clients’ security and compliance needs.
