Logicalis, an international IT solutions and managed services provider, has acquired a 51% stake in NubeliU – a company specializing in cloud computing projects based on OpenStack. The acquisition is part of Logicalis’ strategy to position itself as a cloud integrator, and would strengthen its commitment with the open source community, in particular with OpenStack, which would be essential for large SDx and cloud computing projects.
NubeliU was founded in January 2015 by a team that deployed the first production clouds in OpenStack. As a services company, NubeliU integrates OpenStack environments with customers’ existing platforms across multiple vendor product lines. From its operations in Argentina and Brazil, it can remotely deliver its service offerings around the globe. This acquisition would form the basis for establishing a Logicalis Global OpenStack practice.
“We are convinced that OpenStack will be one of the foundations for the ICT future infrastructure,” said Mark Rogers, CEO of Logicalis. “It is a platform that allows management and orchestration of hybrid environments in public and private clouds, ensuring a safe and transparent operation for corporate clients. This acquisition brings us the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to position Logicalis as the best placed organization, to deliver cloud projects to our customers.”
NubeliU‘s expertise in OpenStack would help accelerate the global expansion of Logicalis’ cloud computing and SDx practices, strengthen its position as a cloud integrator while ensuring its ability to meet customers’ requirements on their journey to digital transformation.
The Logicalis Group has annualized revenues of over $1.5 billion, from operations in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Africa. It is a division of Datatec Limited, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the AIM market of the LSE, with revenues of over $6 billion.
