London Colocation Provider VIRTUS Selects WiredRE to Increase Focus on U.S. Market

VIRTUS Data Centres, a provider of colocation and connectivity services located within London’s metro area, has selected WiredRE Real Estate Group, a cloud, colocation and data center advisor in the U.S., to better service its growing base of U.S. companies.

The cooperation would create significant international opportunities for U.S. businesses looking for access to the UK and EMEA markets. Senior executives from VIRTUS Data Centres and WiredRE have been meeting with potential customers on recent visits to the U.S., and WiredRE will be working to further these and other North America based opportunities.

“VIRTUS has enjoyed significant growth over the last year,” said Neil Cresswell, Chief Executive Officer of VIRTUS Data Centres. “Following increased interest from U.S. customers, we felt it the right time to engage the specialized experience of WiredRE to ensure we could better serve potential U.S. customers in their location and deliver our award winning range of flexible services more easily to U.S. customers.

LONDON2 Data Center

In addition to its hyper efficient and agile solutions, VIRTUS’ recently opened LONDON2 data center offers a broad range of connectivity with a density of physical fiber; and both multiple global and national tier one and two providers delivering services to customers. This connectivity investment builds on the optimized location of LONDON2, situated at the heart of London’s ‘connectivity Goldilocks zone’ linking to fiber routes connecting to mainland Europe while avoiding London, as well as routing across the Atlantic.

Virtus’ new LONDON2 facility in Hayes, West London, will deliver 65,000 square feet of net colocation data center space.

VIRTUS’ connectivity and cloud partnerships provides its customers with access to high speed metropolitan networks across London as well as connectivity to over 240 data centers in the UK and across Europe.

Furthermore, the launch of the VIRTUS Intelligent Portal (VIP), a free Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution for colocation customers means VIRTUS provides their customers all over the world with complete transparency into and control of their colocated data center usage – enabling them to visualize and manage space, power, cooling and energy usage through a single pane of glass, regardless of their physical location.

“VIRTUS’ intelligent data centers provide the most efficient and flexible data center solutions in the UK,” said Everett Thompson, CEO, WiredRE. “Coupled with their optimized IT tools and service approach, an unmatched range of connectivity options, industry-leading adiabatic cooling and a unique DCIM service, VIRTUS is leading the way in helping customers optimize their IT and providing the lowest total cost of service in the UK. This is drawing an appetite from U.S. audiences attracted to a blend of the best wholesale and colocation offerings available from one provider in London. We’re absolutely delighted to be working alongside VIRTUS Data Centres, a provider who is leading the way by doing things differently.”
