After establishing a new subsea fiber connection between the United States and France one year ago, Lumen Technologies is again expanding network capacity and diversity. Currently, Google-led Grace Hopper, a subsea cable system connecting New York and Bude, Cornwall in the United Kingdom, is receiving funding from Lumen for a fiber pair. The Lumen landing station and infrastructure services will be used by the Grace Hopper system at both sites.

Experience, Diversity, Scalability
Lumen has been owning and managing international subsea networks for almost 20 years now. With six on-net diverse fiber routes, Lumen has a sizable trans-Atlantic underwater portfolio that includes Dunant, a Google subsea system. Dunant connects Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez on the French Atlantic coast with Virginia Beach in the United States. Lumen offers a Dunant-based on-net route between Richmond, Virginia, and Paris, France.
Global businesses and wholesale providers will have access to secured, diverse trans-Atlantic network options connecting to Lumen’s global 450,000 route fiber mile network.
In addition to serving Lumen’s own IP, voice, and CDN networks, the wavelength capacity Lumen will provide on the Grace Hopper subsea cable may be upgraded to meet growing client demands for years to come.
Lumen is already accepting orders now on Grace Hopper which will be operational and ready to provide services in October 2022.
