DuPont Fabros Technology is clearly the gold standard in the global data center business, and we are thrilled to announce our fiber connectivity into one of the world’s largest and most advanced data center campuses,” said Timothy G. Biltz, President and CEO of Lumos Networks. “Our approximately 1,000 enterprise and carrier customers are increasingly asking for secure, high-speed fiber connectivity into Ashburn and we are excited to work with our newest partner DFT to make that a reality.”

Headquartered in Washington, D.C., DuPont Fabros Technology’s 12 data centers are located in four major U.S. markets, which total 2.9 million gross square feet and 256 megawatts of available critical load to power the servers and computing equipment of its customers.

“Enterprises, carriers, cloud hosting services and Internet exchange providers across the U.S. and globally can now access Lumos Networks’ highly advanced, dense and secure Mid-Atlantic footprint with high-bandwidth options of 10Gbps+,” said Vinay Nagpal, Director of Carrier Relations for DuPont Fabros Technology. “We believe that the planned Lumos Networks 665 mile fiber network expansion into the Virginia metro markets of Richmond and Norfolk/Hampton Roads only enhances their attractiveness as a partner, giving our customers in Ashburn additional network options.”
