Nexcess, a provider of dedicated servers and shared packages specialized in Magento eCommerce hosting and WordPress hosting, has announced the opening of a brand new 16,000 square foot data center facility in Southfield, Michigan. The new data center will augment the company’s existing wholly-owned US facility in Dearborn, Michigan and its locations in the UK and Australia.
The new data center facility will facilitate Nexcess’ rapidly growing client-base. The company was recently ranked one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the United States as part of the Deloitte Fast 500.
The new facility is divided into office space and a 12,000 square foot floor space dedicated to data center operations. The Southfield site has access to nearly 3 megawatts of power distributed by redundant Liebert power distribution units fed by a dual Liebert UPS system. The power infrastructure also includes a pair of 750 kilowatt generators with a redundant backup. Each data center room is equipped with redundant Liebert dry cooling units.
Dedicated servers and shared options
“The new facility will allow us to continue scaling hosting operations smoothly without the performance issues that plague many hosting companies during periods of rapid growth,” said Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess. “We’re proud of our ability to provide unbeatable levels of performance and uptime to a demanding client base; with the new Southfield data center, we can continue that tradition of service as we grow.”
