Edgewebhosting Inc., a Baltimore, Maryland-based provider of managed cloud hosting services, has received an Authorization to Operate (ATO) from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). The ATO is a declaration that Edgewebhosting’s CloudPlus cloud hosting platform has met the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Cloud Service Provider (CSP) requirements.
“Achieving FedRAMP compliance allows public sector organizations to trust Edge’s secure CloudPlus cloud hosting platform as the foundation for their cloud computing initiatives.“ said Michael Altman, Chief Operating Officer of Edgewebhosting Inc. “The ATO represents a critical milestone in Edge’s efforts to deliver secure cloud hosting solutions for the federal government.”
FedRAMP is a U.S. government-wide program that standardizes the approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud hosting products and services. The program is designed to comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA).
Edgewebhosting’s cloud hosting services are also compliant with industry standards in the areas of PCI, SSAE 16, SAS 70 and HIPAA.
