RapidScale, managed cloud services provider delivering managed cloud services to MSOs, VARs, MSPs, Carriers and Master Agents throughout the United States, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the hosted infrastructure services portion of Vonage’s business.
Vonage is a global provider of cloud communications services for business. Through its portfolio of UCaaS solutions that enable enhanced productivity and collaboration among employees, Vonage intends to ransform the way people work and businesses operate.
The Vonage API Platform, Nexmo, would also help companies create more meaningful connections with their customers – across any mode of communication, on any device – by enabling developers to embed contextual, programmable communications into mobile apps, websites and business systems, for deeper and more meaningful customer connections.
Under the terms of the agreement, RapidScale will acquire the employees of this Vonage hosted infrastructure business unit and the following services: Infrastructure as a Service, Hosted Exchange, Virtual Desktop, IT Services, Hosted Firewall, Backup Service and Microsoft Skype for Business.
This acquisition would further expand RapidScale’s footprint on the East Coast with the opening of an office in Tysons, Va., “increasing its client base and revenue while providing a robust managed cloud services offering to the Vonage customers being acquired.”
“IT teams of all sizes today are looking for a partnership focused on best-in-class managed cloud services, delivered on a global cloud platform, with managed and hybrid support,” said Randy Jeter, CEO of RapidScale. “Additionally, I see an increasing need for advanced self-service capabilities, reporting, compliance, security and automation, which all help streamline IT. I am excited to address these growing needs for the customers we are acquiring and to provide them with a great cloud experience.”
RapidScale Portal
As Vonage’s customers are migrated to RapidScale’s dynamic platforms, the main benefit that would be visible is the self-service provisioning portals. Clients will be able to create new users, new servers, and even new desktops within seconds via the RapidScale portal. Password resets, usage reporting, event monitoring, and more will all be available with the click of a button. Beyond the portal, RapidScale’s enterprise infrastructure is second to none, providing everything from all flash, all-encrypted storage, to a global core network.
“This change allows us to focus on the growth of our robust suite of Unified Communications as-a-Service (UCaaS) and Communications Platform as-a-Service (CPaaS) offerings, a space in which we have proven to provide customers with the innovative tools they need to keep their employees connected to each other, and their customers, to drive better business outcomes,” said Alan Masarek, CEO of Vonage. “I am confident that we are putting our customers’ business in the right hands with RapidScale, and that this move will enhance the experience for these customers and improve the way they do business.”
