Nexcess, a Southfield, Michigan-based managed hosting company and provider of performance-optimized WordPress, ExpressionEngine, vBulletin, and Magento hosting, has augmented its global hosting platform with the addition of a new data center facility in QTS’ Santa Clara Data Center Campus in California.
Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the new data center facility will give Nexcess clients in the Bay Area and West Coast low-latency access to the company’s performance-optimized hosting platform.Â
The QTS Santa Clara Data Center Campus was chosen for Nexcess‘s Silicon Valley point of presence because it would offer unbeatable connectivity, reliability, and security, in addition to its strategic location in the country’s busiest high-tech business hub.
US, UK and Australia
The QTS colocation facility is carrier neutral and offers connections to multiple bandwidth providers via redundant entrances to the building, supporting Nexcess’ use of optimized BGPv4 routing for the fastest possible data speeds. The data center building is highly secure with biometric authentication for access to the data center floor and 24-hour active security patrols. Power is supplied by four 600 KW Liebert UPS’s in an N+1 configuration that deliver 1.8 MW of power to the data center floor.

The Santa Clara facility further expands Nexcess‘ global hosting capacity, which already includes U.S. facilities located in Southfield and Dearborn, Michigan; and Miami, Florida. The company’s international facilities include both the United Kingdom, for low-latency connectivity to European markets; and Brisbane, Australia.
