GigeNET, a managed hosting provider headquartered just outside of Chicago, has launched a new SAN platform with high-speed Enterprise SAS Solid State Drives. The RAM based SSD technology would provide customers with high performance and reliability.
GigeNET’s new storage area network (SAN) features Enterprise SAS SSD that would offer many benefits including advanced caching for ultra-high read and write speeds and superior reliability. This technology intelligently prioritizes data based on frequency of use and places this data on ultra-high-speed, RAM based, SSD technology for superior performance.
SAS hard drives are faster than SATA drives. Moreover, SAS drives offer greater reliability with lower bit error rates (BER – a measure of read error rates for disk drives).
