Managed Hosting Provider Savvis Renamed CenturyLink Technology Solutions

CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) has announced that its business unit, Savvis, a global provider of cloud infrastructure, colocation and managed hosting solutions, will now deliver its services under the name CenturyLink Technology Solutions effective immediately.

The alignment between the business unit and parent company would represent the combined value that CenturyLink delivers to businesses through its broad set of colocation, managed hosting services, cloud hosting and network offerings.

Operating under one brand

From now, you won’t see the Savvis brand at trade shows anymore.

“We are pleased to become CenturyLink Technology Solutions, as aligning our brand with CenturyLink demonstrates the deeper ties to the broad portfolio of IT solutions that we collectively deliver for businesses,” said Jeff Von Deylen, president of CenturyLink Technology Solutions. “While we are extremely proud of our nearly 20-year legacy operating as Savvis within the industry, we value CenturyLink’s extensive market leadership and look forward to operating under one brand to continue helping businesses become more agile, secure and sustainable with integrated solutions that deliver bottom-line results.”

CenturyLink Technology Solutions will remain the distinct data hosting operating segment within CenturyLink. Von Deylen added, “Though our name is changing, our customers will continue to be served by the same account teams providing the same excellent levels of service and experience that enterprises have come to expect from us.”

Acquisition of Tier 3

CenturyLink expects to continue advancing in its cloud hosting, colocation, managed hosting services and hybrid IT operations, building and expanding data centers in key markets, broadening its managed application suite and innovating its cloud solutions.

The consolidation of brand names follows on the acquisition in November last year of Tier 3, a provider of public cloud hosting services based in the Seattle area. Tier 3’s cloud hosting platform was immediately renamed as ‘CenturyLink Cloud’. In addition, Tier 3’s products, roadmap and vision are now the foundation of CenturyLink’s cloud strategy.
