Managed Hosting Provider ServerCentral Buys AWS Consulting Partner Turing Group

ServerCentral, a managed hosting infrastructure provider with services including colocation, IaaS, and managed cloud solutions, has acquired Turing Group – an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner. The acquisition comes one year after ServerCentral made a minority investment in Turing Group.

Turing Group is one of a few companies in the world to have earned three major AWS partner designations: Amazon Web Services Advanced Consulting Partner, Managed Service Provider, and Authorized Public Sector Partner. Founded in 2000, ServerCentral provides managed data center and network services across the globe.

Now renamed as ServerCentral Turing Group (SCTG), the company will offer public cloud guidance, strategy, management, and application development in addition to core managed data center, private cloud, and managed IT services. This comprehensive service catalog is a product of the companies’ combined areas of expertise.

“Moving to the cloud, or transforming your business, is not something to be taken lightly. It takes time, attention to detail and comprehensive planning to be successful. Lift and shift has proven, time and again, to fail to deliver value,” said Dan Thompson, research director for multi-tenant datacenter (MTDC) at 451 Research. “ServerCentral Turing Group recognized this and has put together an offering for helping companies navigate the complex process of moving to the cloud, managing their cloud infrastructure, and transforming their business processes.”

SCTG’s hybrid cloud services and solutions now include:

  • Cloud Strategy Development & Assessments
  • Global Managed Data Center & Network Services
  • Managed Cloud Services (AWS, Private, Hybrid, VMware)
  • Managed IT Infrastructure Services
  • IoT Platforms, Device Management & Analytics
  • Cloud-Native Software Development

“On the surface, ServerCentral has built a name for itself in managing data centers and network services for innovative companies,” said Jordan Lowe, chief executive officer of SCTG. “But really, what we do best is help organizations get the most out of their IT investment. With the rise of public cloud, it was clear to us that offering a hybrid solution – part data center, part public cloud – had to be our future. We’re lucky to bring on an organization like Turing Group, one that understands the public cloud – and AWS specifically – better than any other provider.”

“As a top AWS partner, our biggest challenge is keeping up with demand as more and more organizations want to move to the cloud,” said Brendan Caulfield, chief revenue officer of SCTG. “Joining forces with ServerCentral allows us to pursue new business much more aggressively while giving us the technical capabilities and expertise to provide whatever solution serves our clients best, whether that’s all AWS or a hybrid approach.”
