Media Temple, a Los Angeles-based web hosting and cloud services company focused on web developers and designers, has added Solid State Drive (SSD) technology to its Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting solutions. At the same time, the company has upgraded its dedicated servers.
With the jump to SSD technology, Media Temple would bring a blazing fast, highly responsive and more-reliable-than-ever VPS hosting offering to web designers, app developers, sys admin, Linux ninjas, creative agencies and studios.
Further, by adding enhanced security and performance features as well as automated backups to its “DV” (VPS with Plesk or cPanel) hosting solution’s existing capabilities for OS and app updates, the company now offers a full suite of VPS hosting services, including self-managed (“DV Developer”, VPS with command line), managed (“DV”) and fully managed plans.
Media Temple’s VPS hosting solutions as well as its dedicated servers also boast increased RAM (now up to 128 GB) and bandwidth (now up to 10 TB).
“With this sweeping set of changes, we are now running the gamut of VPS hosting solutions, from self-managed to managed and fully managed,” said Brian Kuhn, VP of Product at Media Temple. “All these upgrades enable us to keep our servers at the forefront of performance while giving our customers the extra storage, bandwidth and memory they need with the high availability, flexibility and simplicity they want.”
Media Temple’s clients range from top tier designers, popular blogs and online design communities, to global advertising agencies, artistic ecommerce meccas and brands like Red Bull, Nike, Diesel and Under Armour. With 230 dedicated, U.S.-based employees, Media Temple provides services including web hosting, one-click WordPress installs, virtual servers, domain registration, business applications, and other cloud services.
