Microsoft Azure Germany Now Available at Data Center Operator e-shelter

e-shelter, a data center operator with a presence in all key city-markets of the DACH-region, has announced that Microsoft Azure Germany cloud services will be accessible to customers in their e-shelter data center facilities via Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute. At the same time, e-shelter will be launching its e-connect platform.

“With the development of the Internet, mobile computing and Big Data, the expectations of users and customers have changed,” said Toan Nguyen, Director Business Development & Cloud Platform of e-shelter. “Use of business cloud services is a driver of this digital transformation, and has become a corporate reality. Through our relationship with Microsoft we are now closer to the cloud, and our customers thus receive all services from a single source.”

azure cloud“Being located in Germany furthermore guarantees data security according to German law,” added Mr. Nguyen. “Combined with our e-connect service portfolio, we are able to connect our customers across different locations and reliably into the world of the hybrid cloud.”

With the new e-connect service platform, e-shelter customers are now able to use carrier-neutral, flexible and scalable connectivity to connect to Microsoft Azure.
e-connect is based on a dedicated proprietary network infrastructure operated by e-shelter, and does not use the public Internet. Customers would therefore benefit from “greater reliability, higher speeds, lower latencies and better security” than classical Internet connections.

With a presence in all key city-markets of the DACH-region, e-shelter leverages 300 MW of power capacity and 90,000 square meters of data center space to deliver scalable data center solutions. As a member of the NTT Communications Group of companies e-shelter provides access to a global network of 140 data centers.
