Leaseweb Appoints Marilou van Doorn as New Chief Operations Officer

Leaseweb, an international hosting provider, has appointed of Marilou van Doorn as Chief Operations Officer (COO) for its global hosting activities. Van Doorn is an experienced operational leader with “a passion for data and exceptional know-how of the technology landscape.”

Marilou van Doorn previously worked in operational roles as a member of the management team of several international tech companies.

Marilou van Doorn has worked in operational roles as a member of the management team of several international tech companies. Most recently she worked as Global Operations Director of Backbase, a 750 people FinTech company, offering digital UI & UX solutions for financial institutions. Previously Van Doorn worked as Head of Product and IT for tracking technology company Wakoopa that was acquired by GFK.

In her new role at Leaseweb, Marilou van Doorn will strengthen the operational processes for Leaseweb’s entire product portfolio, with a special focus on hybrid cloud products.

After starting her career in the art world, Marilou van Doorn became impressed by the Amsterdam tech scene and made the switch to IT. She holds a master’s degree in New Media and Digital Culture and an MBA from INSEAD.

Thanks to her work experience in organizations of varying sizes – from start-ups to global enterprises, Van Doorn, according to Leaseweb, has a clear picture of what is needed to create a solid operational basis for a successful business. Her focus would be on operational excellence and customer focus, bridging the gap between business and IT.
