Neophase Technologies, a UK-based provider of turn-key private clouds on X86 commodity hardware, has entered into a partnership with Piston Cloud Computing Inc. to distribute Piston OpenStack in Europe.
Neophase offers Piston’s turn-key software product either on premise or hosted in one of Neophase’s partner data centers.
The partnership would combine the power of Piston OpenStack, the OpenStack private cloud software, with Neophase‘s cloud computing expertise to help businesses across Europe meet their business objectives.
“We identified Piston as having the superior OpenStack product offering that can help our customers achieve their business goals in a secure and simple deployment of private cloud,” said Sue Frost, CEO of Neophase. “We’ve developed a lot of respect for Piston the company, the professionalism of its people and the Piston OpenStack product. Now, we’re excited to bring Piston’s innovative turn-key OpenStack product to help drive business productivity in Europe with innovation in the cloud space.”
Piston OpenStack software allows DevOps teams to easily deploy and manage an OpenStack private cloud without IT operations expertise or specialized appliances. Providing virtualized compute, storage, networking, and management through self-service interfaces and APIs, and interoperable with leading PaaS and big data solutions, Piston OpenStack would deliver the agility and cost savings of public cloud without the hassle of managing a typical on-premise solution.
Founded in 2011, Piston is an OpenStack Foundation Gold Member, based in San Francisco, and funded by True Ventures, Hummer Winblad, Swisscom Ventures, Cisco Systems, Inc., Data Collective, and Divergent Ventures.
