Netskope Unveils Cloud Exchange to Support Cloud Security Efficiency

Cloud Exchange, a set of integration cybersecurity modules from Netskope and strategic partners, is the latest solution unveiled by SASE provider Netskope. Cloud Exchange is intended to make organizations’ existing security infrastructure more efficient.

As an offering that’s available to Netskope clients for free, it facilitates cloud-based data and intelligence exchange among security and IT operations teams, allowing them to respond more quickly and efficiently while blocking cloud security threats.

“Teams endure security operations complexity and often struggle to operationalize the valuable telemetry and threat intelligence that would make their security infrastructure more efficient,” said Andy Horwitz, Vice President, Business Development, Netskope. “With Cloud Exchange, we’re removing complexity and helping all customers get more out of the investments they’ve made in their security stack. We’re very pleased to collaborate with important partners in security and workflow management to make this easy today.”

Mitigating Cloud Threats

Exporting logs, automating service tickets, sharing indicators of compromise (IOCs), and exchanging risk scores are among the new or enhanced Cloud Exchange integration modules released by Netskope. These are delivered with integrations for well-known technology partners and domain specialists. Modules in the Cloud Exchange include the following:

  • Cloud Threat Exchange (CTE) – permits automatic bi-directional IOC exchange of file hashes and malicious URLs, for example, between Netskope and CrowdStrike for the most up-to-date ransomware and threat information. CTE has plug-ins for a variety of security vendors, as well as industry standards STIX and TAXII and the ability for clients to design their own CTE plug-ins.
  • Cloud Ticket Orchestrator (CTO) – This year’s release helps to automate response processes by automatically creating service tickets from Netskope alerts within IT service management and collaboration solutions like Atlassian, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, and Slack.
  • Cloud Risk Exchange (CRE) – permits risk ratings from security solutions such as CrowdStrike’s Zero Trust Assessment (ZTA) for devices and Netskope’s user confidence index (UCI) risk ratings to be exchanged and normalized. CRE supports zero trust principles by enabling adaptive policy controls and may automatically launch CTO service requests to initiate investigations.
  • Cloud Log Shipper (CLS) – exports Netskope logs to chosen SIEMs and data lakes, providing detailed information about web and cloud activities, including data flows, to security operations and XDR/MDR services.

Cloud security vulnerabilities are increasing, a trend compounded by the pandemic-induced shift to remote work. Cloud-delivered malware has hit an all-time high, according to Netskope Threat Labs’ recent analysis, accounting for approximately 70% of malware distribution overall in the second half of 2021. To address a variety of online and cloud security issues, teams must proactively exchange actionable threat data and employ solutions that use the best of multi-vendor integrations to improve time-to-value, friction in the delivery of security services, and overall infrastructure effectiveness.

Cloud Exchange integration modules provide high availability installations and are accessible to Netskope clients for free through Netskope, Github, and the AWS Marketplace.

The Netskope Security Cloud provides a granular context, via patented technology, to enable conditional access and user awareness while enforcing zero trust principles across data protection and threat prevention everywhere, with CASB, Firewall, SWG, and ZTNA built natively in a single platform.
