New Continuum Data Centers, a multi-tenant data center operator in the western Chicago suburbs, has announced the addition of Darrell Budic as its Director of Network Operations. Mr. Budic would bring a wealth of hands on experience in building and managing Internet service networks and various network delivered products.
New Continuum is in the process of completely overhauling its network design, hardware and operations. Having recently deployed new redundant switches and routers and implemented a software-defined network with high levels of automation, New Continuum was actively looking for the right manager for its new systems.
“Based on our experience in building and operating our physical plant, we know that you need the right engineers to make your investment work,” said Eli D. Scher, New Continuum Data Centers’ Chairman and CEO. We are extremely excited to have Darrell join our team. He brings deep industry experience in an area where New Continuum is actively investing, with a long track record of building and managing efficient, high quality networks.”

Darrell Budic was the primary network architect of Intranet. He also assumed senior network leadership roles at Chorus Networks, which ultimately acquired Intranet. Mr. Budic has designed and managed network services to organizations serving over 40,000 entities. He also serves as COO of United Internet Exchange, LLC (‘United IX’), and a multi-facility peering fabric, which has a point of presence in New Continuum’s West Chicago data center.
“It is an exciting time to join Eli and his team,” said Darrell Budic. “We have been partnered on United IX, and I’m looking forward to working together at New Continuum to build great products for our customers.”
