DC1500M, a U.2 data center NVMeTM PCIe SSD for mixed-use applications, is now available from Kingston. DC1500M has a high-speed Gen 3.0 x4 PCIe NVMe architecture to provide consistent random IO performance and latencies across a wide variety of applications. DC1500M adds support for multiple namespaces making it suited for virtualization and web hosting scenarios.

“DC1500M adds support for multiple namespaces making it ideal for environments including virtualization and web hosting,” said Keith Schimmenti, Enterprise SSD Business Manager, Kingston.

Kingston DC1500M is designed for long-term performance, with a high-speed Gen 3.0 x4 NVMe PCIe interface for high throughput and low latency in new and current data center platforms. According to Kingston, the drive has constant read and write latencies of 110 seconds and 206 seconds, respectively.

Furthermore, using the U.2 form factor would allow current Gen 3.0 and Gen 4.0 servers and storage arrays to use existing PCIe slots and U.2 backplanes while preserving serviceability with hot-pluggable drives.

To improve long-term performance in high-availability situations, the new DC1500M drive would come with enterprise-grade capabilities. For enhanced data center dependability, these features include end-to-end data route protection, multiple namespace management, power loss protection (PLP), and telemetry monitoring.

Virtualization and Web Hosting

“DC1500M adds support for multiple namespaces making it ideal for environments including virtualization and web hosting,” said Keith Schimmenti, Enterprise SSD Business Manager, Kingston. “From high-performance cloud services, media capture and transport to a range of big-data applications, DC1500M sets the standard for applications where QoS and predictability of performance are paramount. Data centers need drives that are reliable, have serviceable form factors and are equipped with the enterprise-grade features that make it easier to maintain SLAs.”

Kingston DC1500M joins the DC1000B NVMe boot drive, the VMware Ready DC500 series SATA SSDs, and the DC450R to create a comprehensive portfolio of enterprise-grade data center storage solutions. Kingston’s pre- and post-sales service, as well as a five-year limited warranty, are included with the drives. The DC1500M is offered in sizes of 960GB, 1.92TB, 3.84TB, and 7.68TB.
