California Earthquake Authority to House Its Mission Critical IT Infrastructure With RagingWire Data Centers

RagingWire Data Centers, a United States data center provider and an NTT Communications group company, has announced that California Earthquake Authority has selected RagingWire as a home for their mission critical IT infrastructure. After an extensive request for quote (RFQ) process and strict selection criteria evaluating multiple data center colocation companies, the U.S. earthquake insurance company selected RagingWire’s data center campuses in Sacramento, California and Ashburn, Virginia.

California Earthquake Authority, a publicly managed, privately funded organization that provides catastrophic residential earthquake insurance and encourages Californians to reduce their risk of earthquake loss, provides catastrophic residential earthquake insurance and encourages Californians to reduce their risks of earthquake loss. Today, the California Earthquake Authority is one of the largest single-line writers of residential earthquake insurance in the United States, with about 860,000 policies in force, some $600 million in annual premium revenue, and more than $10 billion in claim-paying capacity.

RagingWire‘s Sacramento campus in Northern California was chosen as the primary colocation data center for California Earthquake Authority. The Sacramento data center campus, comprising the CA1, CA2, and CA3 data centers, has 680,000 square feet of space, 53 megawatts of power, and is seismically stable as it sits on a separate tectonic plate than the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. The fiber rich Ashburn, Virginia colocation data center  located in Loudoun County’s famed ‘Data Center Alley’ will be the failover facility for California Earthquake Authority.
