DataBank, a Dallas-based provider of data center colocation, cloud hosting and managed services, has announced details on the company’s expansion of their Pine Ridge data center facility in Lenexa, Kansas. Numerous customer deployments into the second pod would have led to an accelerated completion of the facility’s third pod which encompasses roughly 4,500 square feet of additional raised floor.

DataBank’s Pine Ridge data center was part of the company’s April 2014 acquisition of Arsalon Technologies. The site will now encompass over 12,000 square feet of raised floor and boast a high level of data center power delivery and infrastructure specs. The expansion project doubled the on-site utility power, added UPS and cooling capacity, and included the installation of an additional 1.5MW generator to back up utility power feeds.

“Since expanding into the region this year, we have seen strong growth and interest in Kansas City,” said Tim Moore, DataBank’s CEO. “This investment reflects DataBank’s commitment to grow in this market. We believe Kansas City holds tremendous colocation services potential for us, and we are prepared to invest additional capital in the future.”

In addition to the two Kansas City sites, DataBank’s super-regional footprint includes two more enterprise-class data centers in Dallas, as well as another two in Minneapolis. The second of the Minneapolis colocation sites is currently under construction in the southeast suburb of Eagan. DataBank is headquartered in the historic former Federal Reserve Bank Building, in downtown Dallas, Texas.
