Interxion, a European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data center services, has launched its new service, Cloud Connect, that enables private connections to multiple cloud hosting service providers (CSPs). By providing a private connection between the customer and the CSP, Cloud Connect enables organizations to bypass the public Internet and achieve service level guarantees on latency, throughput and security.
Cloud Connect will provide enterprises, service providers (SPs), system integrators (SIs) and carriers, private connections to multiple cloud hosting environments from within Interxion data centers.
The new service enables enterprises, carriers and SPs/SIs to build complex hybrid IT solutions with the CSPs of their choice over a single connection. Cloud Connect would make it easy to do business, offering online ordering via the Interxion portal and enabling customers to manage their virtual local area network (LAN) connection to each CSP. This would improve the privacy and performance of their cloud hosting service connections and quicken their cloud deployment time.
Initial Cloud Connect deployments will launch in Interxion’s data centers in London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam, in the third quarter of 2014. More locations will follow in 2015.
Data center choice

In support of the Cloud Connect platform, Interxion will deploy the Cloud Networking Solution from BTI Systems, a provider of cloud networking software and systems. BTI’s solution provides Interxion a high-density, SDN-enabled converged packet optical platform, a software control layer enabling customer self-service, and a support plan that will provide the highest performance and reliability of cloud connections.
