PlusServer AG, a German dedicated hosting provider with data centers in the U.S. and Europe, has announced the 100 percent acquisition of MESH GmbH in Dusseldorf and Mainlab GmbH in Frankfurt. The acquisitions allow PlusServer to expand its offering into managed colocation and cloud hosting services. The two transactions would increase PlusServer’s revenue by an eight-figure sum.
“Our strategy is clearly focused on growth”, said PlusServer’s CEO Thomas Strohe. “As all brands benefit from the merger, our growth strategy is optimally supported: The PlusServer brand is complemented by the managed colocation and cloud expertise of MESH and Mainlab. At the same time the acquired companies benefit from our infrastructure expertise, our award-winning data center datadock and our managed hosting expertise.”
With over two million active web sites and around 40,000 customer systems in two data centers in Europe and the U.S., PlusServer has been delivering dedicated hosting for over 15 years.
Last March, PlusServer already acquired the hosting activities of synergetic AG. With group sales in the double-digit million range and around 130 staff in all affiliated companies, synergetic AG is one of the largest multimedia internet companies in the German-speaking world.
“Like every company, MESH not only wants to maintain its standards both for customers and employees, but to continually improve them,” said Claudia Gharavi, who will remain as CEO of MESH GmbH after the acquisition. “With PlusServer as our 100 percent shareholders, we can take advantage of the support of a strong financial partner and experienced hosting provider, which will continuously drive the development of our company.”
Colocation Frankfurt, Amsterdam
Also for Matthias Hennrich, one of the two managing directors of Mainlab, the acquisition was a logical step towards the future: “As all three companies complement each other perfectly in their respective core competencies, there are optimal synergies and business opportunities.”
Founded in 2001, Mainlab focuses on colocation in multiple locations in Frankfurt, Germany and Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as well as managed hosting of cloud infrastructure based on VMware.
“There has been a long history of cooperation between PlusServer and Mainlab,” added Hennrich. “So a stronger connection was the next logical step to open up further benefits to the customers of both companies.”
