GTT (NYSE: GTT), a global cloud networking provider to multinational clients, has announced its acquisition of KPN International for approximately €50 million in cash. Part of listed telecommunications company KPN, their business unit KPN International operates a global IP network for enterprise and carrier customers.
KPN International is a telecommunications and IT provider that serves both Dutch and international customers with its connectivity solutions. KPN International provides its services to customers of all sizes, worldwide. KPN International is part of Koninklijke KPN, a Dutch market leader in telecommunications and IT solutions. Koninklijke KPN serves both business customers and consumers in the field of fixed and mobile networks for telephony, Internet and television.

According to GTT, the acquisition of KPN International will:
- Increase the scale and reach of their network. This would improve GTT’s global Tier 1 IP network in 21 countries in Europe, including long-distance fiber connections and metro rings in Amsterdam, London, Paris and Frankfurt.
- Adds more than 400 new strategic companies and clients. GTT would become the preferred supplier of international networks for another 400 customers retained by KPN.
- Help contribute to GTT’s global sales, its operations and customer service organization.
- Complement GTT’s extensive portfolio of cloud network services, with comparable transport, infrastructure, Internet and WAN services of the highest level.
NLDC is one of the largest colocation providers in the Netherlands. It operates a portfolio of six data centers, of which three in the Amsterdam area and three regional ‘Internet hotspots’ in Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Groningen. NLDC continues to deliver data center services to KPN as a preferred supplier.
