Hosting Provider Steadfast Opens New Data Center in Edison, New Jersey

Steadfast, a fast growing provider of managed cloud hosting, dedicated servers, colocation, hybrid hosting, and disaster recovery, has announced the opening of a new data center space in Edison, New Jersey.

The Chicago-based hosting provider has been offering colocation services out of the New York metro area since Q3 2009, whereas dedicated servers, and cloud hosting services have been available since Q1 2010. In 2010, Steadfast achieved a major step into the New York hosting market by acquiring hosting provider The New York NOC and establishing its data center presence in Manhattan, but the company’s Midwest expansion plans led to a search for a new data center space.

The new data center facility in Edison, New Jersey, supports Tier 3 redundancy and reliability. The move to New Jersey would offer Steadfast’s clients the best in security and customizable colocation space, at an optimal cost. The building is more than 830,000 square feet, and is one of the largest commercially available modular data centers in the region. Current New York-based Steadfast clients have successfully migrated to the New Jersey location.

“Our data center in northern New Jersey is a state-of-the-art location – the modular facility will allow us to the flexibility to quickly grow and expand,” said Karl Zimmerman, CEO of Steadfast. “Data centers in the New York area are, by and large, moving to northern New Jersey, and we are excited to expand our footprint in the northeast.”

Founded in 1998, Steadfast also operates fully redundant data centers in the Chicago area.
