Liquid Web, a $100 million managed hosting provider, has hired Colin Dowling as VP of Channel Sales and Partner Solutions. Mr. Dowling brings quite some hosting experience to his new role, joining Liquid Web from Media Temple, a GoDaddy company where he served as Vice President of Sales and WP Engine where he held Enterprise and Agency Account roles. Previously, Dowling owned his own semiconductor-distribution and manufacturing business.
Colin Dowling has been hired to develop innovative hosting channel programs – to drive deeper and interactive engagement with the designers and agencies that are key constituents of Liquid Web’s 32,000 customers. In addition, Mr. Dowling will lead the affiliate, reseller and referral partner channels. His addition would demonstrate Liquid Web’s commitment to growing its relationship with ‘the creators and partners’ they serve.
“We are very excited about Colin joining the team,” said Jim Geiger, CEO of Liquid Web. “At Liquid Web, we have a legacy of being a reliable, hassle-free host to the creators who build and host mission critical sites, stores and apps for the small and midsize business market. Our goal is to connect in an even more meaningful way with solutions and engagement that help these Creators be successful in their own businesses. Colin’s experience and passion brings acumen that will enable us to expand and enhance our Liquid Web partner programs.”
Liquid Web has been recognized among INC Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing Companies for the last ten years. Liquid Web is part of the Madison Dearborn Partners family of companies. Madison Dearborn Partners is a private equity investment firm based in Chicago.
“I’m joining a team that wants to shift the industry paradigm for partner programs from those that are simply focused on customers giving hosts revenue and instead move the relationship to help these partners be more successful in their businesses,” said Colin Dowling. “The Liquid Web partner platform is going to be less about us and more about them, and I could not be more excited about our opportunity to grow together.”
