Connectria Hosting, a global provider of HIPAA compliant managed hosting solutions, has announced the ability for customers to run HIPAA Compliant environments in Microsoft Azure. With the addition of Connectria’s HIPAA Compliance for Microsoft Azure, the company’s customers are able to choose the cloud environment and technology stack that’s right for them – backed by Connectria’s HIPAA/HITECH-compliance experts and managed services.
Connectria pioneered HIPAA compliant managed hosting back in 2007 by hosting a large HIPAA compliant Electronic Medical Records (EMR) environment for the State of Maine. Since then, the company has supported thousands of HIPAA compliant environments in Connectria’s data centers – for healthcare organizations of all sizes.
Connectria’s managed services include a comprehensive suite of security and support features designed to specifically address the HIPAA and HITECH standards, including the appropriate methods of encryption within each cloud environment.
“Connectria has supported customers in Azure for the past two years,” said Rich Waidmann, Connectria President and CEO. “We’re excited to now enable customers to host HIPAA Compliant environments in Microsoft Azure. Our extensive background in HIPAA Compliance, combined with our close partnership with Microsoft, will help ensure that healthcare providers and healthcare software companies can meet their HIPAA requirements when they store electronic Protected Health Information (PHI and/or ePHI) in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.”
