Nottingham City Council has chosen UK-based CWCS Managed Hosting to provide managed hosting infrastructure for Nottingham’s new Citycard Retail Network, a smart ticket system for public transport.
Citycard Nottingham is set to transform the way passengers purchase their public transport tickets. The new smart ticket system will enable people to buy tickets quickly and conveniently. Nottingham City Council is installing 88 new kiosks throughout the city’s transport network.
For this ambitious plan, there are various infrastructures needed to get in place. This led to Nottingham City Council approaching UK-based hosting specialist CWCS Managed Hosting to supply a bank of dedicated servers in their data centres for the new Citycard Retail Network. CWCS Managed Hosting boasts a range of hosting products and services including cloud servers, dedicated servers, and colocation. The company has two data centres located in the UK.
“We’re thrilled that Nottingham City Council chose CWCS Managed Hosting to host the computing power that will run the new Citycard network,” said Karl Mendez, Managing Director, CWCS Managed Hosting. “It’s great to be involved with this exciting new development. As a Nottingham based company, we are genuinely proud to be providing some of the modern technology that makes Nottingham such a great city to live and work in!”
