ServInt, a managed hosting solutions provider for small to mid-size businesses, has announced the launch of a new self-managed virtual private server (VPS hosting) offering. The new product will allow ServInt’s customers the option of customizing the infrastructure with the support they need to reach their business goals.
“Our customers have asked for more control over their VPS hosting package and support services in order to help keep their expenses in check. And we understand that the small business is very budget conscious,” said William Goss, COO of ServInt. “To support our customers needs, we developed this value-priced infrastructure package, and created a menu of optional support services a customer can add, allowing each customer to create their own unique hosting solution.”
The Self-Managed VPS hosting package is designed for the experienced Linux user who is comfortable using the command line to manage the server.
“ServInt’s technical experts continue to manage the infrastructure, and the customer has full control of the VPS hosting server environment,” added Mr. Goss. “The server comes equipped with all the features an experienced developer or system administration professional needs, like full root access and a choice of operating systems. But we removed extras that the experienced Linux user doesn’t need. The customer can then add their choice of managed services to create a custom hosting solution that meets their budget and computing needs.”
ServInt’s data centers are located in the richest Internet traffic distribution points in the United States and Europe. Both of ServInt’s North American data centers (Reston, VA and Los Angeles, CA) are SSAE-16 certified.
The company’s multi-path, self-healing, 10 gigabit core network is powered by fully meshed Cisco Catalyst 6500 and 7600 Series multilayer switches capable of traffic rates as high as 720 gigabits per second.
