affordable-cdn-slutions-cdnlionIn the beginning of 2013, Czech company CDNlion was founded and the development started. After two-month of beta testing with a few dozen customers, CDNlion.com is finally launching. The company’s Content Delivery Network (CDN) services use a network of data centers located worldwide to speed up websites, images, videos and other static digital content.

The company operates a large delivery network of more than 110 data centers and 2,000 clouds located on 6 continents. Its CDN system automatically copies static online content from the clients’ servers, such as websites, scripts, images, videos and other files, and stores it on the company’s servers. When audience tries to access these files from any location on the planet, CDNlion’s intelligent DNS infrastructure ensures that the content is served from the best location possible – usually from the closest data center to the user.

Affordable CDN solutions

CDNlion utilizes Onapp’s federated CDN platform, similarly to providers like CDN77, CDNify or CDN.net. The company offers pay-as-you-go pricing where customers only pay for their actual bandwidth usage.

“The idea for the content delivery network came when I was working as head of sales and marketing at the National Gallery in Prague,” said Adam Dunovsky, Founder & CEO of CDNlion.com.

The company story started two years ago in early 2012, as explained by Adam Dunovsky, Founder & CEO of CDNlion.com, “I was working as head of sales and marketing at the National Gallery in Prague back then. At the time we were developing a new website with a large high-definition image gallery of artworks. We knew we needed some extra power to handle the traffic. That’s when I first came across delivery networks.”

Affordable content delivery networks with simple implementation didn’t really exist at that time.  “It got me wondering if there isn’t any other, cheaper option available, said Dunosky. “I was looking for a way to build a network of servers based on cloud technology. I discovered the Onapp platform later in 2012 and started working on CDNlion.com then.”
