Windstream Communications Establishes Point of Presence (PoP) in RACK59’s 7725 Connect Colocation Data Center

Telecommunications provider Windstream Communications has established a new Point of Presence (PoP) in RACK59’s colocation data center located at 7725 W Reno, Oklahoma City, OK 73127.

With this recent addition to RACK59’s 7725 Connect colocation data center, customers in the facility now have access to Windstream’s “high-speed” IP services. Additionally, the collaboration would provide new resources to handle the growing bandwidth needs of both established companies and the emerging start-ups that comprise RACK59’s customer base.

RACK59’s carrier dense and carrier neutral colocation data center contains 15,000 square feet of available space and has a high-density server environment available with fully redundant power architecture. The SSAE16 Certified facility is outfitted with a multi-stage security system, including HID card readers, biometrics, and 24/7/365 monitoring. All power equipment is built with 2N redundancy in case of component failure and the building draws power from two independent power grids, backed by two diesel generators with 10,000 gallons (1 full week) of reserve fuel.

“Our partnership with RACK59 is another example of Windstream’s commitment to be a premier nationwide provider of large bandwidth solutions,” said Buddy Bayer, senior vice president of transport engineering for Windstream. “This new Point of Presence gives RACK59 customers diverse, low-latency 100 gigabit connectivity over often unique routes to Tier 1, 2 and 3 markets across the country. We are excited to make these new cost-effective and highly reliable network options available to businesses in the Oklahoma City area.”
