XO Communications (XO), owner and operator of one of the largest IP and Ethernet networks in the Unites States, has established a point of presence (PoP) in vXchnge’s Philadelphia colocation data center. XO now has connections in ten vXchnge data centers located across the United States.
The new connection is part of the XO strategy to further expand its network reach across the U.S. XO Communications would provide vXchnge enterprise and service provider customers with “cost-effective” access to its national IP and Ethernet network, enabling bandwidth on demand connections to locations and cloud resources around the world.
“Bringing our customers closer to a major market like Philadelphia is advantageous from a data access perspective,” said Davide Salustri, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions Sales, XO Communications. “vXchnge provides the level of security, access and support we need to serve our customers in the most efficient manner possible. The extension into the vXchnge data center in the heart of Philadelphia is a strategic fit for our business.”
vXchnge’s broad geographic footprint puts its customers at “the Edge” – in 15 key data center locations. Adhering to the most stringent levels of security protocols to safeguard customer data, vXchnge Philadelphia provides next-generation security features with iris scanners, two-factor authentication and cylindrical portals providing true Data Center-as-a-Service.
“Through our expanded relationship with XO Communications in Philadelphia, and their presence in nine other markets with vXchnge, we are delighted to extend a world-class level of brand protection to those who rely on XO to keep their communications,” said Adam Siegel, Vice President of Networks and Service Providers, vXchnge. “At the same time, we can now offer even more enhanced network connectivity options to our own Philadelphia customers with the integration of XO’s service offering.”
