Dutch data center company NorthC Datacenters, one of the largest colocation providers in the Netherlands operating 10 facilities in total, has appointed Bart van Aanholt (48) as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Mr. Van Aanholt joins NorthC Datacenters from CenturyLink where he served as Vice President of Sales Continental Europe and MEA.
Bart van Aanholt brings a wealth of sales executive experience to NorthC Datacenters. Previously, he worked for over 16 years at Level3 Communications. As Country Director Benelux & Nordics for Level3 Communications, he played a key role in the transition from a centrally managed organization to independently operated local offices. In his latest job, Van Aanholt was in charge of sales, pre-sales and field marketing for the EMEA markets outside of the UK.
“The data center industry and especially NorthC is characterized by strong growth and a strong drive to innovate,” said Bart van Aanholt. “The data center is the beating heart of every cloud environment and more organizations are starting to recognize that. Whereas previously, IT and the cloud typically were topics for the IT manager and the CIO, they have now become strategic topics for the CEO or MD. This means that NorthC’s traditional role as a colocation service provider has evolved into that of a trusted advisor for different topics, including digital transformation, transition to the cloud and connectivity. NorthC is ready to invest and we are on the lookout for new possibilities for expansion. And it is really great to see a start-up-like mentality here. People are truly driven to build something new, even though NorthC already has ten regional data centers throughout the Netherlands.”
Connectivity, Hybrid Cloud, Backup & Security
According to Van Aanholt, NorthC’s regional focus is a key USP for the company and a solid basis for further expansion of regional partnerships.
“NorthC’s proposition is focused on providing regional customers with the digital infrastructure and services they need,” added Mr. Van Aanholt. “Nearby and tailored to their local needs and requirements. My goal is to strengthen and grow that proposition, so customers can rely on us and our regional partners for everything they need for a solid digital strategy, from connectivity and hybrid cloud services to backup and security.”

I am convinced that with his knowledge and experience he will make major contributions in achieving our growth targets and in entering new markets,” said Alexandra Schless, CEO of NorthC Datacenters. “We are aiming to further strengthen our regional focus and to support our clients with their digital transformation. We do that with a strong and complete ecosystem of partners, carriers and cloud providers. Bart will play a key role in forging new partnerships and in providing further focusing to strategy. He will also work on signing up international partners and clients.”
Combined, the ten data center locations of NorthC Datacenters in the Netherlands have a floor surface of almost 55.000M2 and a power capacity of 35 Megawatt. The company serves both large enterprises and public sector organizations as well as cloud and IT providers and small businesses.
