NorthC, the largest data center colocation provider from the Netherlands, has added Relined to its connectivity portfolio in its data center in Oude Meer, in the Amsterdam metropolitan area.

“As a carrier and cloud neutral data center it is essential to have a party like Relined directly on board,” said Rick van Fucht, Manager Connectivity at NorthC.

NorthC’s data center in Oude Meer is in the middle of the Amsterdam metropolitan region, on the Fokker Logistics Park. It has a data floor area of 6,200 m² and offers an electrical capacity of 5.5 MW. The data center is operated CO2-neutral and uses 100% sustainably generated green power. The data center also uses energy-efficient free cooling technology while the racks are set up in completely closed cold corridors.

Relined has a fiber-optic infrastructure in the metro network of Amsterdam. The NorthC data center in Oude Meer will now be connected to this network.

“In a short period of time NorthC has developed into one of the larger players on the market,” said Dennis van Jaarsveld, Manager Sales Netherlands, Relined. “At Relined we notice that the demand for this leading carrier-neutral data center is increasing. By connecting the data center to our own network in Amsterdam, we can meet this demand from our customers. We can now be even more flexible in offering data center connections. At the same advantageous conditions, competitive rates and short delivery times. We are therefore very pleased with this collaboration.”

The Relined Fiber Network’s dark fiber network, which contains approximately 30,000 kilometers of fiber-optic infrastructure and offers national coverage in both the Netherlands and Germany, is under continuous development. More than 125 carrier-neutral data centers in the Netherlands and Germany are now (redundantly) connected to the dark fiber network. And new data centers are added regularly.

The Datacenter Group, NLDC

“As a carrier and cloud neutral data center it is essential to have a network services provider like Relined on board,” said Rick van Fucht, Manager Connectivity at NorthC. “After all, offering colocation and connectivity services is inextricably linked. With the network offering of unexposed fiber-optic connections, such as those offered by Relined, our joint customers can further expand their network in the Netherlands, Germany and/or Denmark.”

NorthC is a merger of The Datacenter Group and NLDC (the data center colocation business of KPN), two major players in the Dutch IT market. By combining their extensive knowledge and years of experience, they are now the largest regional data center colocation company in the Netherlands. Sustainable entrepreneurship is of paramount importance at NorthC. All data centers make 100% use of green power.
