NovaStor, an international provider of software solutions for data protection and availability, has announced a major update to its enterprise-grade network solution, NovaBACKUP DataCenter. With the release of Version 5.2, NovaStor offers customers a single software application to secure both physical and virtual IT environments, and a capability like Granular Item Recovery (GIR) for virtual servers.
Administrators simply select which systems should be modified and launch updates at-will, saving valuable time. Other steps have been taken to further simplify administrative tasks; for example, users would get an impressive degree of automation for Data Availability Groups (DAG) in Microsoft Exchange, for database-level recovery from failures.
Virtual servers, backup & restore
New capabilities, such as Granular Item Recovery (GIR) for VMware, provides backup and restore of individual files to & from VMware virtual servers. VMware optimized Media Pools enable clients to select specific items from VM backups and dictate their restore location of choice – in a single step.
NovaStor’s backup and restore software protects a range of infrastructure from individual workstations, physical servers and virtual servers, to corporate networks, enterprise data centers and cloud architectures. Clients include SMB users, ISPs as well as international corporations.
NovaStor is headquartered in Switzerland (Zug), has offices in Germany (Hamburg) and the USA (CA, Agoura Hills), and is represented in numerous other countries through partnerships.
