NVIDIA has unveiled NVIDIA AI LaunchPad, a comprehensive initiative provided through hybrid-cloud providers that provides companies with instant access to NVIDIA-powered infrastructure and applications to help them expedite the entire artificial intelligence (AI) lifecycle.
Global data center colocation and interconnection company Equinix will be the first to participate in the NVIDIA AI LaunchPad initiative, offering NVIDIA-powered hybrid cloud solutions on Platform Equinix throughout the world. The Equinix infrastructure can be up and running in minutes, giving businesses access to a wide range of NVIDIA resources that support almost every element of AI, from data center training and inference to full-scale edge deployment.
Equinix clients may use NVIDIA AI LaunchPad to create sophisticated AI on NVIDIA DGX SuperPODs that are governed by NVIDIA Base Command Platform, an AI development hub. Base Command Platform will also be available on NVIDIA-Certified Systems from prominent manufacturers like as Dell Technologies and Lenovo. These industry-standard servers, which are based on the NVIDIA EGX platform, are perfect for running the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite on VMware vSphere to create an AI-ready enterprise platform that scales AI on hybrid clouds.
Clients may also use the NVIDIA Fleet Command managed cloud service, which was just launched and is connected to NVIDIA-Certified Systems, to securely install and maintain AI applications across dispersed edge infrastructure at Equinix’s data center platform.
“Today’s enterprises are looking for a simple, comprehensive solution that provides instant access to the resources they need to build and deploy AI with ease,” said Manuvir Das, head of Enterprise Computing at NVIDIA. “NVIDIA AI LaunchPad puts AI at the fingertips of enterprises everywhere with fully automated, hybrid-cloud infrastructure and software for every stage of the AI lifecycle.”
The first AI LaunchPad services offerings at Equinix’s colocation data centers are expected this summer.
Constructing Reliable AI Models
Applications need to access numerous external data sources scattered across public clouds and private business data centers in order to construct reliable artificial intelligence (AI) models. Enterprises may have safe, high-speed access to an ecosystem of firms who run their digital infrastructures at Equinix by using AI LaunchPad at this interconnected data center hub. Platform Equinix’s worldwide footprint, which comprises more than 220 data centers strategically positioned in more than 60 metros across five continents, also helps digital companies meet real-time performance needs.
“Many industries use private clouds to keep costs down by having computing resources close to the data, for performance, data privacy, ownership and sovereignty reasons,” said Steve Steinhilber, vice president of Business Development at Equinix. “With NVIDIA AI LaunchPad globally available at Equinix, enterprises will have immediate access to NVIDIA software and NVIDIA-Certified infrastructure in a comprehensive hybrid-cloud solution.”
Turnkey Hybrid Cloud for Industries
The automobile industry is one of Equinix’s most important client sectors. Continental, one of the world’s biggest automotive technology firms, develops autonomous car solutions for manufacturers using NVIDIA DGX systems housed at Equinix’s colocation data centers.
“Developing advanced AI technologies requires substantial accelerated computing infrastructure, and having NVIDIA systems available globally in Equinix data centers ensures that our teams always have access to the resources they need,” said Ismail Dagli, senior vice president of Research and Development in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems business unit at Continental. “Adding NVIDIA-powered AI inference and edge options to Equinix data centers is significant, as it enables AI to move from development into production.”
Accelerated AI on Mainstream Servers
NVIDIA AI Enterprise, an end-to-end, cloud-native suite of AI and data analytics tools is designed, maintained, and specifically certified by NVIDIA to run on VMware vSphere with NVIDIA-Certified Systems. It is a key component of AI LaunchPad.
Enterprises can quickly deploy AI in Equinix data centers with “near-bare-metal performance” across many nodes using AI Enterprise and VMware vSphere running on NVIDIA-Certified Systems, allowing them to power massive, complicated training and machine learning workloads.
“Enterprises are seeking solutions that enable them to easily integrate AI into their existing infrastructure,” said Krish Prasad, senior vice president and general manager of the Cloud Platform business unit at VMware. “VMware vSphere is critical to mainstreaming AI in the enterprise, and now, NVIDIA AI LaunchPad will deliver our AI-ready enterprise platform as a turnkey solution to rapidly deploy, manage and scale AI workloads.”
NVIDIA AI LaunchPad will leverage systems powered by NVIDIA Ampere architecture GPUs and NVIDIA BlueField DPUs. This combination would allow businesses to accelerate AI workloads while simultaneously benefiting from the security, isolation, and performance improvements that DPUs bring.
