OneCloud Software, a provider of software solutions in the fast-growing hybrid cloud management market, has announced the appointment of Mike Thompson as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With a track record of driving hyper growth for start-ups, Mr. Thompson will lead OneCloud into its next phase of planned growth.

Prior to joining OneCloud Software, Mike Thompson was President/CEO of Sepaton, Inc., a company acquired by HDS/Hitachi. Prior to that, he served as Executive Chairman and CEO/President of Egenera, Inc. where he grew the company to $100M in just five years.

“Since launching OneCloud, we have stayed true to our founding vision of leveraging the public cloud to offer intelligently-automated and cost-effective disaster recovery for all companies,” said Suresh Madhu, founder of OneCloud Software, and Board of Directors member. “The team has done the hard work of building and launching a great product. Mike, with his experience and track record of successfully elevating start-ups, will take what we have built and scale it to reach a broader audience of customers and partners who are hungry for new – and more accessible – DR options.”

Previously, Michael (Mike) Thompson was President/CEO of Sepaton, Inc., a company acquired by HDS/Hitachi.

Through its patented Automated Cloud Engine (ACE), OneCloud “quickly and simply” auto-discovers a company’s primary infrastructure and sets up a “cost optimized” replica in the cloud.

“Over the past 14 months, we have built a product that bridges the gap between the complex and costly disaster recovery of the past and the needs and demands of companies today,” said Marc Crespi, vice president of technology and alliances, OneCloud Software. “It has been great to be a part of the team that created a new solution to an age-old problem, and I look forward to the next chapter with Mike at the helm. We have some exciting work ahead of us as we grow our customer base, create new partnerships and build on our existing ones that will change the way companies look at – and deploy – disaster recovery.”

The announcement follows the news that Cheryle Cushion, a former Dell Marketing Director, joined OneCloud Software as Vice President (VP) of Marketing.
