PrestaShop, a provider of open source solutions for ecommerce, has announced a partnership with Microsoft and the availability of PrestaShop on Microsoft Azure Cloud. The partnership would provide businesses with an affordable ecommerce store that’s ready to deploy and optimized for growth on the Microsoft Azure Cloud.
Through this partnership, PrestaShop and Microsoft Azure will offer a pre-configured multi-VM infrastructure that’s deployed automatically and ready for production. The offer will enable businesses to have a cloud-based online store “with guaranteed high performance, availability and capacity” on demand. This is particularly relevant for businesses with high traffic periods for online sales.
“One of the top concerns for retailers as they expand their online business is the performance of their store,” said Corinne Lejbowicz, CEO of PrestaShop. “We’re delighted to partner with Microsoft because we can provide a pre-configured platform that’s optimized for ecommerce and ready for the busiest shopping days of the year. That’s invaluable for brands who are growing their online business, or web agencies who deliver packaged ecommerce solutions.”
PrestaShop has offices in Europe and the U.S., and is funded by Serena Capital, XAnge Private Equity and Seventure Partners.
“Ecommerce takes on a new dimension with advanced cloud services,” said Frederic Aatz, Director of Open Source Strategy at Microsoft France. “We are therefore delighted to take this new step with PrestaShop on Microsoft Azure in our Marketplace.”
