Orchest and Seaborn Collaborate to Expand Network Services in Latin America

Subsea Cable

Orchest Technologies has announced an expanded Network Services Agreement with Seaborn Networks, a developer-owner-operator of submarine fiber optic cable systems and terrestrial networks in the Americas. This strategic alliance would give Orchest access to Seaborn’s subsea and terrestrial network infrastructure capacity in five of the largest markets in Latin America.

Orchest Technologies will use its automated platform to enable software-defined networking (SDN)-based data center connectivity across the US, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Peru.

Jeremy Villalobos, COO at Orchest.
“A strategic alliance such as this with Seaborn, enables us to leverage our unique SDN to provide high-availability network solutions between North and South American enterprises in a flexible and cloud agnostic manner,” said Jeremy Villalobos, COO at Orchest.

According to Jeremy Villalobos, COO of Orchest, this strategic alliance with Seaborn will enable the company to provide high-availability network solutions and on-demand access between North and South American enterprises in a flexible and cloud-agnostic manner.

Mr. Villalobos added that Seaborn was an easy choice for a strategic alliance and South American partnership due to the company’s long list of mutual benefits, like-minded executive teams, and a shared desire to disrupt the natural markets using leading technology and software.

Steve Orlando, CEO of Seaborn Networks, said that the company shares Orchest’s vision of rolling out network-on-demand capabilities on the US-Brazil route, as well as throughout other South American markets. Mr. Orlando added that Seaborn is excited to expand its relationship with Orchest throughout South America, where its high-capacity infrastructure services fit nicely withvalue-added network automation capabilities.

Brazilian Infrastructure

One of the benefits of this alliance is Orchest’s ability to access Seaborn’s infrastructure investments across five different subsea cable systems in Latin America, as well as Seaborn’s fast-growing domestic Brazilian infrastructure. Seaborn is quite unique among independent cable operators, as it fully operates and maintains its subsea and land-based cable infrastructure, including cable landing stations, terrestrial backhaul, and points of presence (POPs). The company’s team has designed, built, and operated more submarine cable systems than any other telecommunications team, including more than 75 Cable Landing Stations, 250 global POPs, and 250,000 km of submarine fiber optic cables.

As Orchest continues to expand its Latin American reach and diversification of services, partners like Seaborn would play a key focus in creating a truly neutral and global platform. The company is an international provider of network solutions and cloud connection services throughout Latin America. This latest agreement with Seaborn Networks would help Orchest Technologies continue to provide innovative solutions to its clients in the region.
