Dutch web hosting company PCextreme was acquired by TWS (Total Webhosting Solutions) in 2018. At this year’s CloudFest in Germany, HostingJournalist.com spoke to PCextreme CTO Wido den Hollander, about their transition from a traditional web hosting model to becoming a cloud infrastructure provider. He also elaborates on the acquisition-focused expansion strategy of parent company TWS.
TWS has acquired several web hosting and cloud services companies across Europea lately, mainly in the Netherlands but also in Spain. These companies include Axarnet Group (Spain), Yourhosting, Versio, RealHosting, De Heeg, Savvii, Provider, Neostrada, Reviced Cloud Services, and PCextreme. Behind these acquisitions is Strikwerda Investments, an investment vehicle of the Strikwerda family that first had their successes in the Dutch ICT industry already more than 20 years ago with Tas Group going public in 1998.
In this video interview, PCextreme CTO Wido den Hollander also talks about market consolidation in the Netherlands and he explains what it means to be part of TWS and to have a variety of sister companies delivering their own hosting services as well.
