Peak 10 + ViaWest Launches 100 Gigabit Network Connectivity Across United States

Hybrid IT infrastructure provider, Peak 10 + ViaWest, offering colocation, interconnection, cloud, and managed solutions, has announced a new core network backbone featuring 100 Gigabit (Gb) connectivity across nine of its data center and cloud node locations spanning the United States.

Customers can select the network capacity that best fits their needs today, knowing that the network is readily scalable to 400Gb based on their business needs and growth.

The 100Gb connectivity now connects nine (of 40) data center locations, including data centers and cloud nodes in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas, and Portland, Ore., and points of presence (POPs) in key carriers hotels in Chicago, New York and Ashburn, Va. In a growing number of its markets, Peak 10 + ViaWest also has 40Gb connectivity among intercity data centers that is aggregated and routed via the network backbone. Later this fall, the 100Gb network backbone will be extended to data centers in Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., and Louisville, Ky.

“As we continue to come together as one entity, our combined resources and network offerings will help our customers grow their businesses and manage increasingly complex network requirements,” said Chris Downie, CEO of Peak 10 + ViaWest. “Our 100 Gigabit network is truly differentiated, highly redundant and designed for 100% uptime. Customers can use it to connect to more than 80 direct carrier or peering infrastructures within our data centers, as well as gain access to hundreds of carriers and hyperscale cloud providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google, among others.”

Peak 10 + ViaWest‘s private and secured network backbone is connected into key carrier hotels and peering exchanges in five major markets, with extensions to London and Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is supported by a dedicated backbone engineering team, advanced monitoring and alerting tools, and 24/7/365 support staff.
