Walter Packaging, a packaging icon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has selected TierPoint to provide colocation and disaster recovery/business continuity services in its Valley Forge, Pennsylvania data center facility. TierPoint distinguished itself from six other competitors to win S. Walter‘s confidence and its business.
Monitored around-the-clock by on-site operational management, the 125,000 square foot Valley Forge colocation facility offers the space to fully customize every aspect of an organization’s underlying infrastructure, including hardware, bandwidth, installation, security and management options.
TierPoint‘s own high-speed DWDM fiber optic networks links its geographically diverse data centers – bringing integrated disaster recovery solutions, real-time data replication, remote backup, email failover, and other high availability solutions to reality.
“The site’s location, physical security and biometric access controls, and client communication protocols were the driving factors in the selection process,” said S. Walter Packaging CIO, Tony Patti. “Because our former colocation provider was not able to maintain an appropriate thermal environment for our equipment and we were also on the cusp of the peak sales period for our business, we needed to move as soon as possible.”
“We were all blown away by TierPoint’s ability to move us in only eight days after signing the contract,” added Patti. “TierPoint’s attentive and professional team actually made the process easy, especially given the tight timeframe. The ongoing responsive service from TierPoint confirms we made the right choice.”
With corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, TierPoint operates 13 “highly redundant”, Tier III plus data centers in the states of Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
