PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite Now Integrated With Rackspace’s OpenStack Powered Private Cloud

PLUMgrid, a provider of secured and scalable software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) solutions for OpenStack clouds, has announced that its PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite (ONS) is now integrated with Rackspace Private Cloud powered by OpenStack.

Rackspace Private Cloud powered by OpenStack delivers a scalable, production-ready private cloud powered by OpenStack. It can be deployed in a Rackspace or customer’s data center and is managed by Rackspace OpenStack experts.

The Rackspace and PLUMgrid solution is built to run enterprise production workloads and would be a suitable solution for migrating workloads from traditional IT silos to cloud-based architecture. It would offer a private cloud that works out of the box, is easy to scale and comes with support from both teams.

plumgrid-openstack“Our customers want a stable and scalable, production-ready private cloud powered by OpenStack,” said Darrin Hanson, vice president and general manager, OpenStack Private Cloud, Rackspace. “This relationship with PLUMgrid will give our OpenStack private cloud customers a new and powerful option for SDN deployment.”

As an integrated SDN solution in the OpenStack space, PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite provides micro-segmentation with Virtual Domains, enabling users to separate traffic for multi-tenancy based on security groups and policy definitions. Built on IO Visor technology, PLUMgrid ONS leverages distributed data plane for scalable performance, delivers “enterprise-grade high availability,” and provides comprehensive virtual and physical network monitoring with CloudApex.

SDN, NFV

plumgrid-cloud“Rackspace is well known in the industry as the #1 managed cloud hosting company with exceptional customer service,” said Larry Lang, CEO of PLUMgrid. “We are excited to work with Rackspace and offer a solution through the integration of PLUMgrid ONS with Rackspace Private Cloud powered by OpenStack.”

PLUMgrid’s SDN and NFV solutions would enable modern data centers to connect tenants, applications and workloads efficiently across hypervisors, virtualized, container and bare metal architectures. PLUMgrid is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and is funded by venture capital and strategic investors.
