To meet high capacity demands of cloud networks, Pluribus Networks has launched three new Freedom 9000 series network switches. These network switches are based on silicon from the Broadcom StrataXGS Trident 3 switch series. They would deliver high performance, and are designed especially for enterprise, cloud service provider, and communication service provider data center networks that support private and public cloud infrastructure.

The brand-new Freedom Series switches by Pluribus are created to provide support to modern scale-out network architectures that can get outstanding growth to unlimited port counts. Along with that, it will also offer well-documented cost efficiencies of disaggregated networking. The new switches by the organization have been modified in terms of capacity as they support 10GbE, 25GbE, and 100GbE interfaces with Layer 2, Layer 3, and VXLAN wire speed forwarding. It also supports granular telemetry and rich cloud services up to 6.4Tbp/s of wire-speed performance to meet the regularly increasing demands of private and managed cloud.

Pluribus Networks is also going to announce the listing of Freedom Series switches on the OCP Marketplace, increasing access to a bigger community of OCP members and making it easy to do business with the organization. This came after the collaboration of the Open Compute Project (OCP) and Pluribus. All the Freedom switches have been either registered as OCP Accepted or are being evaluated for the same.

CEO of Pluribus Networks, Kumar Srikantan said that Pluribus tries to provide flexible and powerful disaggregated software and hardware solutions for various enterprises, cloud service providers, and communication service providers deploying scale-out data center networks architectures. He concluded his statement by saying that the launch of new Freedom Series switches and the participation of the company in OCP Marketplace clearly indicates that the organization is devoted to providing high performance disaggregated networking.

According to Pluribus Networks CEO Kumar Srikantan, the launch of new Freedom Series switches and the participation of the company in OCP Marketplace clearly indicates that the organization is devoted to providing high performance disaggregated networking.

Pluribus Freedom Series switches can also support ONIE compatible network operating systems. They are deployed using the Pluribus’ Linux-based Netvisor ONE operating system and the Adaptive Cloud Fabric controller-less SDN software. It can be said to be a duo that provides one of the best automated fabric-networking solutions. The Adaptive Cloud Fabric automates single site, multi-site, and edge data center cloud networks delivering new levels of agility while minimizing the operation-related complexities of programming “up to 95%” across protocol-based alternatives.

As compared to old-school SDN solutions that used multiple controller licenses and servers at every data center location, the brand-new next generation controller-less Adaptive Cloud Fabric would be both simple to deploy and operate while being cost-effective at the same time. Adaptive Cloud Fabric can easily interoperate with third-party cloud network fabrics to expand cloud services by taking advantage of BGP EVPN border gateway functionality.

Pluribus Networks has shown how committed it is towards high-performance disaggregated networking with the launch of these new Freedom Series switches. The Broadcom StrataXGS Trident 3 series used in Freedom Series switches even support fully programmable packet processing, telemetry at line rate over all ports, rich network services while offering considerable leverages based on power and cost-efficiency.
