A prominent, publicly listed technology business has signed a pre-lease with wholesale data center operator Prime Data Centers. Twelve megawatts at Prime’s Los Angeles data center are secured through the agreement for delivery in Q4 2024. The new client will employ the capacity to enhance content delivery for its expanding Southern California user base.

“Demand is strong at Prime LAX-01 thanks to its unique combination of reliable, wholesale data center capacity and access to hundreds of local, national and global networks,” said Nicholas Laag, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Prime Data Centers. “This creates an ideal data center environment for cloud providers, Internet businesses, technology companies, and the content-centric enterprise.”

The first Southern California data center for Prime, designated LAX-01, has a three-story layout, a floor area of 261,000 square feet, and a critical IT load capacity of 33 megawatts. In the capacity-constrained downtown LA market, the data center provides a desired mix of readily accessible wholesale electricity and convenient access to hundreds of networks.

“Demand is strong at Prime LAX-01 thanks to its unique combination of reliable, wholesale data center capacity and access to hundreds of local, national and global networks,” said Nicholas Laag, CEO at Prime Data Centers.

Each of the five downtown Los Angeles carrier hotels and more than 300 carriers are connected to the new facility by Prime, which has a deal with a national carrier to offer “low-cost,” wholesale dark fiber services to any LAX-01 customer. The partnership makes it possible for hyperscale Prime customers to connect in a way that may need hundreds of fiber pairs.

The LAX-01 development is a part of Prime’s plan for international growth, which calls for the delivery of 2.4 gigawatts at full capacity, including 159 megawatts in California alone. The corporation is assisting the endeavor by concentrating on talent acquisition, which has resulted in a 163% increase in staff growth in 2022 and a projected 159% increase in growth in 2023. The diversity of Prime employees is about 30%, which would be higher than the U.S. workforce average of 23%.

Through global data center building and optimization, Prime collaborates with digital-first businesses including cloud providers, colocation providers, Internet businesses, and tech-savvy enterprises to improve application performance and customer experience.
