QTS Announces Connectivity Options for Its New Chicago Mega Data Center

QTS an international provider of data centers, managed hosting and cloud services, has announced connectivity options for its new Chicago mega data center currently under development. AT&T, Comcast, Level 3, Sunesys, Windstream, and Zayo will be in place to provide direct access to long haul fiber networks for enterprises in Chicago’s Central Business District and surrounding areas.

Located downtown Chicago with abundant dark fiber ring options to 350 E. Cermak Street, as well as 100+ network carriers and partners, QTS Chicago will feature abundant connectivity “with low latency” in a carrier neutral colocation facility.

When completed, QTS Chicago will feature 317,000 square feet of colocation capacity and 24 megawatts of critical power and is the latest addition to QTS’ expanding, integrated platform of data centers with its grand opening scheduled for mid-July.

qts data center chicagoQTS is in discussion with other telecommunications, fiber and dark fiber carriers expressing interest in establishing a network presence based on QTS’ plans for additional enterprise, government and service provider customers coming online.

Situated on a 30 acre campus, QTS Chicago features the transformation of the iconic Chicago Sun-Times facility into a Tier 3 compliant mega data center on Chicago’s south side. It will serve as QTS’ Midwest hub delivering its full portfolio of IT infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) featuring customizable data center solutions, colocation hosting, managed hosting, hybrid cloud, and disaster recovery services for the enterprise and government organizations.
