After appointing an IBM veteran as managing director for its EMEA operations earlier this month, global cloud and managed hosting provider Savvis has announced the appointment of Gery Messer as managing director for its Asia Pacific operations.
Messer joins Savvis from NGA, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa operations, including sales, marketing, research and development, and customer service. Previously, Messer was President for Asia Pacific of Red Hat Inc., and he was also responsible for launching SAP’s operations in Korea. His nearly 30 years of international experience in technology and consulting organizations includes leadership roles with EMC, Deloitte, and IBM.
“Rapid business growth in Asia Pacific continues to fuel demand for cloud hosting, colocation and managed IT hosting services that help organizations reduce time to market, enable a distributed workforce and gain competitive edge,” Gery Messer said. “I look forward to driving innovation and positive business outcomes through the adoption of Savvis’ technology solutions.”
“With a diverse global data centre footprint, Savvis serves as the technology partner for many global enterprises operating in Asia Pacific,” said James Parker, senior vice president, global sales and marketing, Savvis. “Gery brings a strong, well-recognized background in building teams and growing client relationships that fits well with our strategic goals in this region.”
Savvis, a CenturyLink company, delivers cloud hosting, colocation and managed hosting services over advanced networks. CenturyLink is the third largest telecommunications company in the United States.
