Storage infrastructure solutions supplier Seagate together with Phison, a global vendor delivering in NAND flash controller and storage solutions, have announced plans to extend their joint SSD range. Their new, high-performance, high-density enterprise NVMe SSDs are designed to help enterprises lower total cost ownership.
The new SSDs would help reduce TCO for organizations by increasing storage density, lowering power consumption, and improving performance. The two firms have also announced a long-term collaboration that would further improve the development cycle and marketing of enterprise-class SSDs. More specific product announcements from this partnership will be made in the summer of 2022.
Since 2017, Seagate and Phison have worked together on Seagate’s mainstream SATA SSD devices. The company’s performance-leading series of FireCuda consumer gaming NVMe PCIe Gen4x4 SSDs and its purpose-built NAS NVMe SSDs have continued this tight collaboration.
The partnership will now focus on meeting the evolving global enterprise demand for higher density, faster, and smarter storage infrastructure that complements HDD storage to enable comprehensive enterprise applications like hyperscale data centers, high-performance computing (HPC), and artificial intelligence (AI).
