Sentinel Data Centers, developer and operator of multi-tenant colocation facilities, will significantly expand its NJ-1 facility in Somerset, New Jersey, adding up to 200,000 gross square feet and 20 megawatts of critical load.
The “Phase III” expansion comes as the existing 230,000 square foot NJ-1 colocation facility nears capacity and demand for Sentinel’s large-user focused offering remains strong. Sentinel has pre-leased capacity within the Phase III expansion and intends to bring the facility addition online in the second half of 2015.
Sentinel will continue to utilize modular building blocks to enable customization of power densities and resiliency levels on a granular basis within each customer’s dedicated suite.
Founded in 2001, Sentinel Data Centers was an early pioneer in the “wholesale” data center business. Since its inception, Sentinel has developed more than 1.6 million square feet and 120 megawatts of multi-tenant and build-to-suit data center and colocation solutions for a diversity of Fortune 500 enterprises across multiple industries, including financial services, healthcare, technology and biotechnology.
